Lamborghini tests the race spec, GT3 tagged variant of the Huracan for the very first time at the Piero Taruffi circuit in Vallelunga, Rome. Lamborghini Squadra Corse test drivers Adrian Zaugg and Fabio Babini set up the new race car under the supervision of Giorgio Sanna.

The new Huracan GT3 has helped Lamborghini Squadra Corse to take the next step towards development and production of a race car for one of the most demanding and prestigious international categories. The Huracan GT3 marks Lamborghini’s first complete in-house production of a GT3 car, drawing on the support of Dallara Automobili that is also partner in the Huracan LP 620 2 Super Trofeo’s development.

The Huracan GT3 is anticipated to race at five venues in Europe including the famous 24hrs of Spa. In 2016 the new car from the House of the Raging Bull will also line up at the most important North American and Asian race meetings.

Giorgio Sanna, the person responsible for GT3 programs commented, “I’m pretty much satisfied with this first test of the new Huracan GT3. We still have plenty of work to do to be ready for the upcoming season, but performance and reliability feedback is encouraging. I have no doubt that this car will more than hold its own in international GT3 competitions.”
