Bajaj launched its biggest displacement motorcycle yet, the Dominar 400, at highly competitive prices. The Dominar 400’s engine is closely based on the KTM 390’s motor, although with some trademark tweaks in the form of three spark-plugs. So it was about time that KTM fanboys put this new Bajaj against each other. Although, we believe all of us know what’s going to happen.

The Austrian pocket rocket is tuned to deliver 44 PS of power and 35 Nm of torque while the Dominar puts out 35 PS and 35 Nm. The 390 Duke also has a massive weight advantage over the Dominar 400. While the 390 Duke tips the weighing scale at 154 kg (wet), the Dominar weighs 182 kg (wet) which gives the KTM a power-to-weight advantage.
To be honest, the two motorcycles have different characters and it’s like comparing Apples to Oranges. But no harm in watching them go against each other on straight road.
The standard model has been priced at INR 1.36 lakh while the ABS equipped variant comes at INR 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
We are yet to get our hands on the Bajaj Dominar 400 for a detailed review. While we wait for that, check out the video below to watch the Bajaj Dominar 400 go against KTM 390 Duke (courtesy: YouTuber Hari Rajan).
