Triumph’s own take on the scrambler theme is pretty intense, but Jaipur-based Rajputana Customs took a Bonneville, changed a few crucial bits and bobs, whipping up their own interpretation of a Scrambler, which looks fetching enough. Built by RCM specifically to be showcased at the recently concluded India Bike Week 2015 in Goa courtesy Triumph India, who are also commemorating a year of Indian operations, the customized Bonneville hopes to give customers get new ideas to customize their British stallions.

The head-lamps from the standard Bonneville have been shown the door and replaced with a shield instead, which sport a set of dual, asymmetrically placed projector lamps. Elsewhere, the bike dons a lethal matte black hue.

The tank, side panels, frame and other cycle parts remain stock, apart from the seat and the high-mounted, twin exhausts, both being custom parts getting unique, period treatment. The minimalist front and rear fenders are also new additions. Indicators are damned.

The rear section from the Bonneville has also been done away with, and all that remains is an asymmetrically placed single, round tail lamp. The stock wheels make way for knobby tires to get into the whole scrambler scheme of things.

Rounding things off are a motocross-style handlebar, off-road grips, scrambler levers and foot pegs.

This take on the iconic Modern Classic continues to keep its special, vintage flair and is powered by the same 865cc parallel-twin, air-cooled, DOHC engine that delivers 68 PS of power at 7500 rpm and is kept in leash by a five-speed transmission with a wet, multi-plate clutch. The motorcycle’s backbone is represented by a classically styled tubular steel frame which sits on KYB 41mm Forks and rear chromed spring twin shocks with adjustable preload.
