hero HX250R

Hero Motorcorp have introduced their top-of-the-line HX250R motorcycles in India today. The new motorcycle is powered by a brand new 249cc, 4 stroke single cylinder DOHC, liquid cooled engine cranking out 31 ps of max power. The Hero HX250R engine is mated to a six speed constant mesh transmission.

Up front on the bike, you have twin telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers, while at the rear you have a monoshock with 5 step adjustable preload and shim valve damping. Braking duties are handled by a 300mm, triple piston caliper with optional ABS. At the rear you have a 220mm linked disc unit with combined braking and ABS as an option. Also the new Hero HX250R gets an underseat exhaust.

The bike has 17×2.75 inch alloy wheel up front with 110/80R – 17 rubber and 17 x 4.0 inch alloy wheels with 140/70R-17 rubber on the rear wheel. Both wheels are shod with unidirectional tubeless tyres. The weight of the bike is quite light at139 kgs, and it has a 12.5 liter fuel tank

  1. hey guys the bike has a tubular frame it seems…anyone knows how it differs from the trellis and perimeter frames available in the market?

    • u better go for some eye chekups !! its clearly written 31 bhp ! Proud to be a hero fanboy !! remember myself arguing wid everyone on almost evry single auto website dat why hero is better and now am proud that Hero hasn’t let our (hero fanboys) fanboyism down :-)Awesome bike and features !!! must have a top end of around 170 coz my bro’s N250R went till 177

  2. I just hope they launch it soon..have been waiting for an awesome quarter-lite fully flaired bike under 1.5 L (on-road) but now i think i will buy this one even if its goes above that limit!
    I just have 1 issue..the front look of the bike is a bit dry and thin..they should work upon it and make it a little fat and cover the engine parts that can be seen from the front..
    the side look otherwise is impeccable!
    better than the CBR’s and R’s!
    I just dont get..why india doesnt have or encourages such automotive technology?
    why everytime we have to take in some outsider..?!

  3. all of them above must know abt ebr (eric buell racing) under whose expertise hero has developed this product… this was high time for hero to bring out the best of their capabilities… hero already had a much better engine refinement factor along with perfect gearbox productship and handling perspective than those of bajaj dumpyard bikes ( not to mention their so very pathetic engine, gearbox and handling) … this bike is a fresh blow of air for me to move ahead of my stigma towards oh-so-commuterish hero and be proud to say that Hero Motocorp is the best Indian two wheeler manufacturer as of now 🙂

    front aint looks like ninja, fireblade or honda products- check out ebr bikes.

    • Calling Bajaj products pathetic isn’t going to change the fact that the Bajaj-KTM alliance has been bringing out the best performance machines at a price suiting everyone’s wallet. Hero’s 250cc looks great on paper and hopefully will pack a punch too, good enough for those waiting for a Karizma upgrade since years. But all this doesn’t equate to calling Bajaj bikes crap………
