The upcoming Hyundai Elantra Sport sedan has been revealed completely through a set of leaked images. The undisguised Korean-spec Sport edition was spotted and photographed in, what it looks like, a dealership yard in South Korea. Earlier to this appearance, the Elantra Sport was spied on numerous occasions while doing rounds during a public road test. The Elantra is known as the Hyundai Avante in South Korea.

The spied Hyundai Elantra Sport edition seems to have received a complete redesigned front fascia. As compared to the Hyundai Elantra the performance variant gets slightly bigger headlamp units and the lighting cluster inside it is rearranged. Foglamp clusters are horizontally placed and are fitted above the larger air intakes. The front grille setup is retained, on the other hand, the underlining bumper lip has been reworked. The body lines on the sides remain the same, but the whole profile is provided with a sporty look by the new 20-spoke wheels. Reportedly, Hyundai will roll out the Sport variant with an independent rear suspension that will improve the handling of the sedan. The interior will also be updated with sporty bits and features.

Moving on to the rear, the taillight cluster seems updated and leaving the rear bumper everything else is retained from the regular version. The rear bumper gets reshaped reflectors and bumper cladding that houses the twin pipe of the exhaust. Powering the Hyundai Elantra/Avante Sport will likely be a Turbocharged 1.6L GDi engine similar to the one powering the Tucson. For the Elantra, the powerplant will make around 200Bhp at 5,500rpm and a peak torque of 264Nm between 1,500 and 4,500rpm. The engine will send the power to the wheels by a 7-speed DCT gearbox.

For now, there are no official updates available on the upcoming performance variant of the Hyundai Elantra/Avante. The launch of the said sedan is expected to take place in South Korea soon. It will be priced a bit higher than the regular version. The regular version of the Elantra is yet to reach the Indian market, therefore the Sport variant is far from making a debut in India.
