Renegade Duty Ace

Auto Expo 2018: UM Unveils The Renegade Duty Ace; To Cost INR 1.3 Lakh

Apart from the new base model, the Duty S, United Motorcycles have also launched another version of their Renegade range, the Duty Ace. (S, Ace – Talk of tongue twisters, eh?)

Like the lesser S version, the Ace has been designed to be ridden both on and off-road. However, the bike gets certain changes that make it more adept for road use. The Ace gets a flatter handlebar and different graphics. The material of the upholstery used on the seat is also more premium in keeping with the more performance oriented stance of the bike.

The Duty Ace shares its mechanicals with the S and is powered by a 223cc single cylinder oil cooled motor that puts out 17 PS power and an equal amount of turning force through a 5-speed synchro-mesh gearbox. The bike is suspended on hydraulic telescopic suspension up front with 41 mm of travel while the rear gets traditional hydraulic springs.

In terms of instrumentation, the bike gets a digital speedo with a gear indicator. The Ace also gets 280 mm disc brakes up front while the rear gets conventional drum brakes. UM has given the bike a ground clearance of 180mm that will allow it to traverse through rough terrain with ease.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rajeev Mishra, CEO of UM Lohia said, “The Duty Ace caters to a special segment of motorcyclists who are seeking fun and adventure from their motorcycles and we’re quite sure it will appeal to such young guns.”
