Tata Motors is geared up for 2016 with all new products. Even after a delayed start, the Tata Tiago managed to score big for the car-maker. The monthly sales figure of its launch month showed that it was the best selling Tata car in April. Moving on to the next upcoming model, Tata Motors is prepping up their Nexon Compact SUV for a launch later this year. The model was showcased in its full glory at the 2016 Auto Expo held in Delhi NCR earlier this year.

Based on a heavily reworked Vista platform, the Nexon compact SUV tries to punch above its weight and to some extent it does a decent job. The company will pack the compact SUV with a host of features to make it an attractive deal. IAB’s Shoeb R Kalania has added a bit more flare to the Tata Nexon through a digitally created render. The artist has transformed the humble Nexon in a more outgoing off roader. Officially, the Nexon was presented to the audience in a fresh shade of blue, but this render uses the Sunburst Orange livery; the one seen on the Tiago hatchback.

The front fascia has been redesigned for an aggressive look. The headlamp cluster remain the same but the honeycomb radiator grille has been replaced with a three slat grille and features the ‘TATA’ on its nose. The fog lamps are fitted above the air dam and the fog lamp housings are converted into air intakes. The wheel arch extensions are thicker and easily merge into the body cladding running across the passenger doors. The ORVMs are replaced by cameras and side steps are fitted for assistance.

A huge roof box has been placed on the roof for extra storage. The wheels are bigger and the tyres wrapped around it are of all terrain character. On the whole, the artist has given the Nexon redesigned bodywork for a rugged look.

As for the specs, the Tata Nexon will debut with a new engine from the Revotron family under its hood. Powering the compact SUV will be a turbocharged, 1.5-liter diesel unit capable of making power of 108 Bhp and 260 Nm of torque. The power will be sent to the wheels by a manual 6-speed gearbox and an Automatic Transmission kit will be offered as well. As we mentioned earlier, the official launch details of the Nexon is not yet known. The company is still not done with the testing of the Nexon and on several occasions camouflaged test mules of the Nexon have been spotted doing rounds near Pune.
