SsangYong XAVL SUV Concept Teased Before 2017 Geneva Motor Show Unveiling

SsangYong Motor Company will unveil its XAVL SUV concept at the 2017 International Geneva Motor Show. But before that, it has been teased. According to SsangYong, the XAVL is a further iteration of the XAV concept which was presented at the Frankfurt motor show in 2015.

With styling inspired by the South Korean brand’s Korando model of the 1990s, the XAVL – which stands for eXciting Authentic Vehicle Long SUV – will present “a tough and masculine looking SUV concept that blends advanced convenience and the practicality of a multi-purpose MPV”.

Inside, the XAVL claims to accommodate seven passengers in comfort and provide wide inner space with a user-friendly interface, that includes connected car technology and digital display. The XAVL will also be equipped with a suite of new safety aids for pedestrians as well as the driver and passengers.

Power will come from both petrol and new clean-burning diesel engines, unlike the XAV, which drew power from a 1.6-liter engine and e-4WD system, comprising of a lithium-ion battery and electric motors mounted on the front and rear wheels.
