Seen here are a couple of speculative renderings of the next generation 2016 Nissan GT-R supercar. While the complete model replacement for the ‘zilla is still a couple of years away, it hasn’t kept people away from speculating a fair deal about the upcoming generation of one of the most loved supercars of recent times.

The next generation GT-R is likely to drastically different from the current model and might come up with a sharper exterior design and a hybrid-powerplant. While the complete exterior re-design will be done to enhance aerodynamics and downforce, the advent of hybrid powertrain would ensure that the car will become more effieicent without having to do away with its decidedly lethal performance. It is being said that the hybrid powertrain for the next GT-R would consist of a 3.7-liter gasoline engine that will be paired with two electric motors. This hybrid powertrain is likely to have a combined power output of over 600 hp and to keep CO2 emissions in check, the engine would feature cylinder deactivation technology and a start-stop system.

We are eagerly awaiting the launch of the next gen 2016 Nissan GT-R. Stay tuned to Motoroids for more updates on the next gen Godzilla!
