In February this year, Yamaha introduced the cosmetically updated 2016 YZF-R15 with new colour variants and updated graphics for the Indian market. The new 2016, cosmetically updated models have now made way to the Indonesian market. The new 2016 R15 will now be available in 3 colour options – Supernova Red, Racing Blue and Midnight Black in the Indonesian market. The Racing Blue variant receives a livery similar to the R3 which includes the fairing in a shade of silver as well as blue coloured alloy wheels. The other two colour variants receive black alloys.
There are no mechanical updates and the 2016 YZF-R15 continues to draw power from the same 149cc single cylinder liquid cooled engine that produces 16.5 PS of power and 14.5 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a six speed transmission.
The company also launched a Ohlins special edition for the R15. tagged as the R15 SE, this special edition will be available to order for a limited period of one month starting March 15, 2016. The special version, as the name suggests, will benefit from Ohlins shock absorber, but only at the rear. The R15 SE has been priced at IDR 32.8 million (INR 1.67 lakh) while the 2016 R15 will come with a price tag of IDR 29.8 million (INR 1.52 lakh) in the Indonesian market.
