VW’s new saloon for America

Volkswagen has revealed a sketch of its new saloon which will be sold only in the US market. The car is slated for a late 2011 launch.

The rationale behind this new car is to produce a saloon which has mass appeal and not very expensive to buy. This will better the chances of Volkswagen in increasing its presence in the American car market. The new saloon is expected to be bigger and around $8000 cheaper than the company’s current offering Passat.  With the launch of this car VW intends to give current salon car market leaders Toyota (Camry) and Honda (Accord) a run for their money.

According to unconfirmed reports a Seat branded version of the saloon may also be sold in South America.
