Volkswagen Reports Double The Sales in H1 2022

Volkswagen India reported a strong hike in sales. Volkswagen successfully doubled its sales volume in H1 2022 compared with H1 2021. The newly launched Volkswagen Virtus and Tiguan paid a major contribution to this achievement. With increasing popularity Tiguan has become the most-awarded SUVW.

The sales of Volkswagen has has reached 21,588 units in H1 2022. The last year’s H1 sales were nearly half with 10,843 units sold. The upgraded products and new launches as a part India 2.0 project have impressively favoured the company. With a bold and classy design, Tiguan and Virtues have received an unmatchable customer response. The premium midsize sedan like Virtus is leading the mega delivery programs across India, Volkswagen has delivered over 2,590 cars of Virtus by the mega delivery program.

With German-engineered driving machines aligned and global standards of build quality, and safety Volkswagen is enhancing its product portfolio and customer experience. For years, Volkswagen launched the global best-selling Tiguan and the striking & exhilarating new Virtus as its brand new products. Volkswagen has established a network of 152 sales touch points, and 120 service facilities present in 114 cities covering 80% of India’s geography. Volkswagen has also launched many initiatives under the Sarvottam 2.0 program to ensure accessibility across its interfaces through the customer journey.

The new luxury sedan Virtus offers two petrol engines, The first, is a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 115PS of power and 175Nm of peak torque, paired to a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter. And the second 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine delivers 150hp and 250nm of torque. Transmission options are a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG. The Virtus comes equipped with touch-sensitive automatic climate control, keyless entry with push-button start/stop, cruise control, digital instrument cluster, electric sunroof, wireless charging, and ventilated seats.

Powered by a 2.0-litre TSI engine with 188 bhp and 320 Nm, while mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission as standard, The Volkswagen Tiguan has features like a new instrument cluster, a redesigned steering, 30-colour ambient lighting, and new touch-based AC controls. Notable features include traction control, ESP, ventilated seats, wireless charging, hill hold, hill start assist, a panoramic sunroof, etc.
