Energica Eva Electric Motorcycle

Visual Electrolysis: The Energica Eva Superbike

Based on Energica’s EGO platform, the CRP Group showcased its new electric superbike- the Energica Eva. Energica’s new electric motorcycle happens to be a streetfighter variant of its faired sibling- the Energica Ego.

As in the case of IC motorcycles- the faired and unfaired versions engine tend to run different states of tune depending on application i.e. a street variant is always detuned for better rideability. But with electric motors that whack out max power right from 0 rpm itself- expect the Energica Eva to share the same powerful electric engine from the Energica Ego.

With 134 bhp and a massive 195 nm of torque from 0 to its redline- the Permanent Magnet AC (PMAC), Oil Cooled motor can dismiss the 100 kph mark from standstill in under 3 seconds and keep spinning till an electronically restricted top speed of 240 kph. Though similar figures on a street fighter wouldn’t be as seamless as on the faired version and though there might be no downgrades on engine power, we expect CRP to cut on the top speed on the new Energica Eva. Using top of the line racing components, onboard chargers, and a range of approximately 192 kms in real world riding conditions, a phase 4 DC charging system charges the batteries to 85% in just 30 minutes.

Livia Cevolini, CEO Energica Motor Company says “We believe that the future is electric, and that a winner on the track is also a champion on the open road. Our bikes are champions of sport, luxury, craftsmanship and innovation rooted in our expertise in engineering and driving performance.”

The EVA shown at EICMA 2014 will be a prototype but should be ready for sale in 2016.
