Lamborghini Aventador Roadster burns in Dubai

A few weeks back, images of a gutted Lamborghini Aventador Roadster from Dubai surfaced on the web. Now, a new dash cam video puts to light how the whole incident unfolded. The Aventador Roadster, which was a LP 720-4 50° Anniversario Edition with fake SV stickers and a DMC wing, was a part of a super-car convoy that was out for a drive.

A bit of customary revving ensured when the convoy was waiting at an intersection for the light to turn green. Given the scorching Middle Eastern heat, coupled with the Aventador’s tendency to spit flames, the rear end freakishly caught fire. The driver kept on revving, totally unaware of his super-car’s burning derrière, and kept on driving in spite of fellow motorists shouting at him to take notice of the situation. We cringed as the flames started to lick its stunning Giallo Maggio (May Yellow) paintwork.

Rest, assured, it didn’t end well, as the 720 bhp, V12 hearted Italian had already turned into an automotive inferno by the time the owner came to his wits. We wish somebody had walked up to the car and alerted the driver though, instead of just yelling. Watch the video below (fire starts at 1:35):
