Mercedes-Benz has released some high quality (of, course) video footages of their upcoming 2016 GLE SUV. The GLE is the successor to the current M-Class and should be available in the Indian market before next year. We have attached two videos and the first one will show you the fire-breathing AMG version of the GLE. The AMG GLE 63 S comes with a handmade 5.5-litre BiTurbo V8 that serves up 585 horses and an astonishing 760 Nm of twisting force. All this oomph(!) is channeled through a 7-speed autobox and distributed to all four corners via the 4MATIC four-wheel drive system. This means that when you floor the throttle, the GLE 63 S, will scamper from nought to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and will be electronically pegged back at 250 km/h. Of course, one can ask for the special AMG Driver Package. This ‘package’ will remove the annoying electronic limiter and now when the throttle is firewalled, you will be hurtled towards the horizon at 280 km/h.
2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE 250d.
Of course, most Indians would end up buying the more economical GLE 250d model. With its 2.1-litre turbocharged engine making 204 horsepower and 480 Nm of torque, this one will certainly be of interest to Indian customers. So the second video that we have attached, will feature the GLE 250d. Watch both and especially, enjoy the sounds from the BiTurbo AMG car.
