Upcoming KTM 200 Duke Spotted Testing

The next generation KTM 200 Duke has been spotted testing on the Indian roads. The spy shots show a different and smaller body design than the next generation 390 Duke which was spotted before and it is also very much different compared to the ongoing model. The new KTM 200 Duke will feature a completely new design and revised mechanicals which it will borrow from the next generation 390 Duke.

The new generation 200 Duke comes with an edgier design with long tank extensions which is longer and draws inspiration from the overseas model Super Duke 1220R. The spotted images also show different and unique switch gear compared to the current Indian lineup of KTM. The uniqueness of this motorcycle continues with a different rear Monoshock. The swingarm also gets an updated shape and design. The overall bike appears to be more rugged and sharper than the current model.

The mechanical changes seen on this new KTM are the front brake disc moved to the other side of the rim while the rims are derived from the next-gen RC models. The subframe of this bike also gets reworked. The rear gets split grab rails for the pillion. Other changes seen on the spotted bike are a larger display unit compared to the current model and get a similar TFT unit design as the 390 range, while the LCD unit gets similar to 250 adventure. Although the spied images don’t reveal many details about the screen, we can expect a basic LCD dash to keep the pricing low as possible.

The engine mount also shows a different design than the ongoing model. The only similar elements seen on this testing bike are the rear LED lights and LED turn indicators. The next-gen Duke 200 is also expected to come equipped with dual-channel ABS. Though we don’t know much about the specifications yet, we can expect it to have more power than its predecessor. With the number of significant changes the new Duke 200 carries over its predecessor, we can expect it to carry a significant premium over the current model. Expect the new Duke 200 to be launched next year after the next generation Duke 390 gets launched.
