Undisguised 2014 Volkswagen Polo facelift snapped

Volkswagen’s facelifted Polo has been doing the rounds on the internet through spy pictures. However, Autocar India has managed to find photographs of undisguised version of the 2014 Polo.

Yes, the new Polo may come in new shades as the car seen in the picture showcases new orange paint shade. The new version also get new set of wheels. But sadly, not all the updates from the international version have made it to India.

The car gets newly designed headlights but miss the daytime running lights (DRLs) found on the international model. The addition of DRLs would have been a plus point gives its direct competitor, Hyundai i20 gets that option. Other update that the 2014 Polo has received is a redesigned bumper which sports larger air dam and new fog lights. The rear also get a new bumper but the rest of the car is more or less the same.

The inside of the car too gets minor tweaks. The 2014 Polo gets a new steering wheel with more functionality but rest all remains the same. Volkswagen decided to give the same gear lever as found on the outgoing car and the instrument cluster also remains same, as oppose to the 3D-effect dials as seen on the global car.

The good news is that India will receive the newly developed 1.5-litre TDI diesel engine that will come in two power variants – 89 bhp and 104 bhp.

The 2014 version of the Polo should hit the showrooms soon. However, not bringing all the features on the global model to India may not be such a good strategy.
