UM Motorcycles has launched its Renegade Commando Classic and Renegade Commando Classic models in India. The two new models from the American motorcycle maker are priced at INR 1.89 lakh and 1.8 lakh ex-showroom Delhi, respectively. The bookings for the two models will start from 2nd September 2017 with deliveries following shortly. UM operates in India as UM Lohia Two wheelers through an association with Lohia Auto, and has 60 dealerships operational in the country.
The Renegade Commando Mojave and Renegade Commando Classic are powered by liquid cooled, Single Cylinder, 4 strokes, 4 valves engines. The key specs and details of the two motorcycles are provided below

The Renegade Commando Classic, as represented above, is a cruiser powered by a 279.5 cc single-cylinder Liquid-cooled EFI engine with 25.15 PS of power at 8500 RPM and 23 NM of torque at 7000 RPM. The engine is mated to a six-speed transmission with overdrive for enhanced cruising ability. The motorcycle gets a high gloss metallic 2 tone paint job and swathes of chrome, which measures 3430 square inches in area according to UM. The touring oriented motorcycle includes a left side saddlebag and tank cover, a poly-carbonate windshield, highway engine guards and alloy back rest. If you want saddlebags on the right side as well, you have to pay extra. The Commando Classic will be available in the market in a two tone metallic candy paint with shades of Copper Cream & Candy Metallic Glossy Black.
The second motorcycle, the Renegade Commando Mojave takes its inspiration from the Mojave Desert which is North America’s largest and driest desert. Mojave will also share the same engine as the Renegade Commando Classic but will different styling and colour. Mojave gets a unique desert coloured matte paint, Mojave Desert logos and fuel tank cell phone pad.
Both Commando and Mojave come with an electric start and have an air filter with paper element innovation. The front wheel has telescopic suspension while the rear wheel has dual shock absorbers. Fuel tank capacity for the two motorcycles is a generous 18 liters with a kerb weight of 179kg.
Both motorcycles come with Service Alert Maintenance feature that gives users a heads-up on the service update.
