Two-wheeler sales July 2016: India Yamaha Motor registers 12% domestic growth

India Yamaha Motor has registered 12% growth in domestic sales (including Nepal) in July 2016, selling 65,244 units as against 58,477 units sold in July 2015. India Yamaha Motor says that the business continues to maintain an upward trend in sales at the back of its product line-up with the addition of the newly-launched disc brake variant of the Cygnus Alpha scooter and the new Cygnus Ray-ZR.

The two-wheeler maker also adds that the Company is increasing focus on expanding to tier II and III cities, thus reaching out to larger groups of target population has also been instrumental in boosting sales.

Commenting on the company’s sustained growth, Roy Kurian, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales said that the brand is gradually getting connected to customers very well as the sales for the new products introduced in 2016 is picking up. Similar to performance bikes and commuter bikes, scooter market is also growing in India, pointing out to the new customer trends and Yamaha is all ready to take over.
