TVS has finally launched the much-awaited Ronin at ₹1.49 Lakh! The Ronin is somewhat in its unique own category and TVS calls it a modern retro motorcycle. The Ronin is available in three variants of Base, Base Plus, and Mid. The Base variant comes in Lightning Black and Magma Red and is priced at ₹1.49 lakh. The Base Plus comes in dual-tone Delta Blue and Stargaze Black shades and is priced at ₹1.56 lakh. The Mid variant is priced between ₹1.69 lakh and ₹1.71 lakh and is available in Galactic Grey and Dawn Orange triple-tone shades. The entry-level variants get single-channel ABS whereas the Mid variant comes with dual-channel ABS.
Design
The TVS Ronin takes design cues from Cruiser bikes, Scramblers, and even Cafe racers. The front gets a round LED headlight that comes with a T-shaped DRL which gives it a unique face. It gets a muscular tear drop-shaped fuel tank with the TVS logo proudly sitting on it. The side panel houses the name ‘Ronin’ and it gets a single-piece brown seat. The back gets a grab rail for the passenger. The rear gets a slim LED taillamp and LED turn indicators. Other elements include a blacked-out engine and a large single black exhaust with a silver tip and 9 spoke alloy wheels wrapped in block tread tires.

Features
The instrument cluster is an asymmetrically placed pod that displays various functions like Distance to Empty, ETA – Estimated Time of Arrival, Gear Shift Assist, Side Stand Engine Inhibitor, Service Due Indication, and Low Battery Indicator. It also comes with a silent start feature with the help of an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG). The Ronin also comes equipped with SmartXonnect Bluetooth connectivity system that comes with call and message alerts, turn-by-turn navigation, and voice assistance features. The mobile phone app can be used to check the ride details as well. The ABS system comes with Urban and Rain modes to adapt to the different riding conditions. Other than this, it comes with a USB charger and LED lighting all around.
Powertrain
The TVS Ronin is powered by a 225.9 cc 4-valve single-cylinder engine that produces 20 Ps at 7750 rpm and 19.93 Nm at 3750 rpm. It gets an oil cooler and TVS has mentioned that the engine is tuned for good low-end torque. It is mated to a 5-speed transmission with an assist and slipper clutch. It can achieve a top speed of 120 km/h.
Mechanicals
The chassis of the Ronin is an all-new dual cradle unit. The suspension duties are taken care of by 41mm USD Showa forks up front which are finished in gold. The rear suspension is a gas-charged monoshock unit. The alloy wheels which are wrapped in dual-purpose tires measure 110/70 – 17 in the front and 130/70 – 17 in the rear. It gets disc brakes at the front and rear which come equipped with either single-channel or dual-channel ABS depending on the variant. The TVS Ronin has a kerb weight of 160kg.
