TVS Apache RTR 180 undergoing a major overhaul

Not long ago, there used to be a time when TVS Apache brand of bikes used to be a potent threat to the popular Pulsar series of bikes from Bajaj. However, we saw the Pulsar 200NS upping the ante in its segment and it won’t be too wrong to say that the advent of the 200NS has ensured that the Apache brand of bikes have a lot of catching up to do.

TVS did come up with a facelift for the Apache range but the updated styling package hasn’t gone down too well with the bike aficionados.

The need of the hour for the Hosur based two wheeler maker is to come up with a comprehensively updated model. It seems like TVS Motors realizes this and is developing an exhaustively restyled version of the motorcycle. TVS has started teasing the updated bike on its Facebook page and on its official website.

Two of the teaser images read: “The beast seeks a new skin”. Another teaser says: “The day of the dark knight”.

The teaser image also shows a set of new grab rails, with another showing discarded parts of the current model.

The facelift will debut with the Apache 180 and is expected to trickle down to the lesser 160cc siblings. The engine is expected to remain largely the same. This means that the bike would have a max power of 17.05 bhp. We do wish that the restyled bike benefits from more power and torque.

We really can’t wait to lay our eyes (and hands) on the upcoming TVS Apache RTR 180 facelift.
