The New Toyota Fortuner TRD ‘Celebratory Edition’ with Pearl White with Attitude Black Dual Tone Exterior

Toyota India Teases The Fortuner TRD Limited Edition, Launch Expected Soon

Even after the arrival of newer competition, the Toyota Fortuner still occupies an iconic status in the Indian SUV market. While the facelifted model is a few months aways, Toyota India has shared a video on its official Twitter handle that teases the upcoming TRD special edition of the Fortuner.

To make it clear, the TRD edition will be seen in the pre-facelift model and shall be expected to be out soon in the market.

The video showcases the images of the desert with no sight of the actual vehicle in the frame. However, the captions on the screen read as “gear up for the Fortuner Limited edition” which confirms the development. The Fortuner TRD Limited Edition or Celebratory Edition has been available in many foreign markets and has been long expected in India as well. However, customers until now can buy the TRD variant by opting for the TRD Sportivo package of official accessories from Toyota.

Expected Visual Updates on the TRD Edition

The upcoming limited edition model of the Toyota Fortuner will also carry some visual updates. For example, it should get a TRD-branded grille and an updated set of bumpers. The Fortuner badge is offered at the end of the hood, while chrome treatment will be added to the front and rear skid plates as well as additional chrome embellishments on the bumper.

Customers are also expected to be offered a side body molding and side stickers with TRD Sportivo graphics. The TRD logo is placed on the fuel cap, trunk door and on the chrome muffler, while the door edge and corner protector are also on offer. Of course, the additions will lead to a higher price tag, which could be up to Rs 1 lakh over the standard model but fans of the premium SUV won’t mind to dish out a little extra to make it look more premium.

As mentioned earlier, the Fortuner is due a facelift which has already been revealed about a couple of months ago in Thailand and goes on sale later this year. In India, the updated model has been spotted testing on roads on a couple of occasions with its launch set for early next year. The new 2021 Fortuner will be offered in two variants- Standard and Legender.
