At the 4th Bus and Special Vehicle Show last month, Toyota showcased the Hiace MPV. According to a report, it has emerged that the Hiace would cost around INR 40 lakh when it goes on sale this year. The Hiace is a luxury MPV which was also showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo in Delhi. Powering this huge MPV is the famed Toyota D4-D mill matd to a 4-speed automatic transmission. The engine churns out 136 PS and 300 Nm of torque. Toyota also offers a 2.7-liter petrol motor with a max power of 148 hp and peak torque of 241 Nm in the international market.
The Hiace is sold in more than 140 countries in the world, developed to withstand various climates, roads, and usage conditions. It comes with a seating capacity for 10 passengers (including driver) in a configuration of 4 rows and an ample luggage space. Initially, Toyota will be launching the Hiace as a CBU and will go for the CKD route at a later stage.
