The upcoming Toyota Etios cross has been again captured while on test on the Argentinian roads.

The Etios Liva hatchback is slated to be  launched soon with a rough road package in Brazil. The Etios Liva is known simply as the Etios hatchback in Brazil and here we have clear spy pics of the upcoming Brazil-spec Toyota Etios Cross.

The Etios Cross is nothing but a fully loaded Etios XLS variant that has been given enough plastic cladding and visual upgrades to make it a pseudo crossover. In Brazil, the Etios Cross will lock horns with the VW Gol Rallye, Hyundai HB20X and the Renault Sandero Stepway. However, don’t be much surprised if Toyota brings  this car  to India and make life a bit tougher for the recently launched Volkswagen Cross Polo, which is again a Polo on steeroids.

Other than the black plastic cladding, the Etios Cross also gets an additional front bumper, a set of reflectors near the grille and a set of auxiliary lamps. Completing the rough road package are roof rails and diamond-finished alloy wheels.

As can be expected from such cars, the Etios Cross remains mechanically unchanged and will share its underpinnings, drivetrain and other bits with the Etios XLS. This means that the car will be powered by a 1.5-liter Flex fuel motor that has a max power of  96.5bhp.

As is obvious, the Etios Cross would be expensive than the XLS variant, which is currently  selling in Brazil for 42,490 Brazilian Reals (approx INR 11.9 lakhs). The Toyota Etios Cross Brazil launch is expected happen in late-Sept/early-Oct.
