That the new KTM 390 Duke is headed our way is a well known fact by now. Regulars here would remember that we reported in detail when pics of the KTM 390 Duke at the Bajaj-KTM assembly line leaked on to the web world. Now, thanks to Yogesh Naik and the Team Duke who snapped the ABS equipped Duke 390 during its test run on the Mumbai Pune Highway, we have closely shot and clear pictures of the new KTM and its details.
The most interesting of these pics has to be the one which is showing the display with the 38 kpl as indicated mileage figure! The bottle test shows that the Duke 390 might be on a mileage run, but even if the bike is being ridden sedately on the test runs, 38 kpl for a 44 bhp bike does sound fabulous.
Other interesting detail that has come to light is that of the bike being shod with tyres from Metzeler, which is a premium brand from Pirelli. However, safely expect substitutes from MRF when the regular production batch of bike is produced.
The new KTM 390 Duke can be safely expected to be launched with a sticker price in vicinity of INR 2 lakhs. The bigger Katoom is looking all set to kick open the doors to an all new segment in performance biking market of India. If rumours are to be believed, Bajaj-KTM has already commenced the production of the KTM 390 Duke in India and the mouth watering price tag is thanks to the heavy localization that BAL has set up for production of the bigger-than-200 KTM.
