Tata Motors has launched the CNG version of the Punch today. However, the price range of Punch CNG starts from Rs. 7.10 Lakhs Ex-showroom. The carmaker is providing 3 variants along with the option of selecting custom packs with the Punch CNG.
In addition, the carmaker has launched updated versions of the Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG. With this update, the new Tata models are equipped with twin-cylinder technology.
Tata Punch CNG – What’s New?



With this update, the carmaker has provided their new CNG kit with the Punch. However, the kit is installed in a different manner as compared to the regular cars.
The Punch CNG gets the new Twin-cylinder technology which was showcased at Auto Expo 2023. In this case, the carmaker has installed 2 cylinders below the boot space of the car. With this tech, the car offers more practicality and fuel efficiency. However, the spare wheel is mounted in the underbody of the car.
Mechanically, the Punch CNG is available with a 1.2L 3-cylinder Revotron engine. However, this engine makes 86hp and 113nm in petrol mode and 73ps and 103nm in CNG mode. The Punch CNG is only available with a 5-Speed Manual Gearbox.
Besides, there are no major changes to the design of the Punch CNG. The Punch CNG gets i-CNG badges on the tailgate like other models. With this update, the Tata Punch CNG becomes the first SUV in its segment to offer premium features. Below is the features list of Punch CNG:

Details of updated Tata Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG


The carmaker has also updated the CNG variants of Tiago and Tigor. With this update, both these cars are equipped with twin-cylinder technology. This feature has increased the boot space of Tiago from 80 liters (without a twin-cylinder) to 205 liters (with a twin-cylinder).
This feature is already available in other models like Altroz and the newly launched Punch. In this case, the carmaker has installed 2 cylinders, each of 30kg capacity, below the boot area. This feature has replaced the old method of on-boot mounted single CNG tanks. With this tech, the car offers more practicality and fuel efficiency.
Besides, there are no changes to the exterior and interior design of these cars. Also, the features list remains similar to the previous models. While the Altroz and Punch are based on the new ALFA modular platform, the Tiago and Tigor are based on the X1 platform.

Pricing and the Competition
The price range of the new Tiago CNG starts from Rs. 6.55 Lakhs while the Tigor CNG starts from Rs. 7.80 Lakhs Ex-showroom. Meanwhile, the price range of the Punch CNG starts from Rs. 7.10 Lakhs Ex-showroom. Below is the detailed pricing list:

Tata Tiago CNG continues its rivalry with Maruti Celerio CNG, Maruti Wagon-R CNG, and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG. However, the Tigor CNG competes with Maruti Dzire CNG and Hyundai Aura CNG.
With this update, Tata Punch CNG has direct competition from the newly launched Hyundai Exter CNG.
