Tata Motors recently showcased over 40 products – from haulage to construction related technologies and services, at its Advanced Trucking Expo known as Truck World in Chandigarh. The company also launched its new Signa range of medium and heavy commercial vehicles, which will shortly be available across Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab.
First showcased at the recently concluded SIAM Auto Expo 2016, the Signa range is offered in various configurations. The Signa range is engineered and built to offer buyers, with a newly designed and configured cabin, with in-built Telematics system and Tata Motors aggregates. On display at the expo are two variants from the Signa range – the Signa 4923.S tractor and the Signa 4018.S tractor.
According to the company, with its smartly designed cabin space, improved ergonomics and NVH levels, the Signa range of cabins are built to offer a superior in-cab experience, enabling drivers to operate fatigue free over long hauls, which in turn offers significant improvement in productivity. With an inbuilt telematics system, by Tata Fleetman, the new Signa range empowers fleet operator with a more connected experience, to better manage their transport business through optimum driver, vehicle and fuel management.
Following is a descriptor of the products, from the Signa range on display:
- The Tata Signa 4923.S is a tractor offering from Tata Motors Signa range of commercial vehicles. With a Gross Combination Weight (GCW) of 49000 Kgs, when coupled with suitable trailers, the model with a Cummins ISBe 5.9 Common Rail engine delivers power of 171KW and a torque of 850Nm, and is based on aggregates like the G1150 Gearbox and RA109SRT rear axle. The model is also offered with multiple fully-built load body options.
- The Tata Signa 4018.S is a tractor offering from Tata Motors’ Signa range of commercial vehicles. With a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 40 tonnes, the model is powered by a Tata Cummins B5.9 L– 6-cylinder engine, with a combination of 134KW and flat torque of 675 Nm at lowest rpm range.
