Tata Motors completes over 1 Billion DTC kilometers in 7 years of operation

Tata Motors announced the completion of over 100 crore / 1 billion kilometers with Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) in 7 years – one of the largest CNG-powered bus service operators in the world. With 2682 buses, including low and semi-floor A/C and Non A/C variants, Tata Motors DTC buses operate from 22 bus depots spread across New Delhi, ferrying over 30 lakh passengers, covering approximately 4.70 lakh kilometers daily, with a fleet availability of 96%, a world record in itself.

As the most popular means of public transport for intra-city travel, DTC buses have been catering to nearly 50% of the Delhi’s total commuter requirements, of which Tata Motors DTC buses have completed 100,71,27,708 kilometres, as of August 15, 2015. In 2007, the Government of Delhi placed an order with Tata Motors to maintain 650 buses, winning another order to supply 2032 buses to DTC.
