Suzuki Motorcycles Register Double-digit Growth Going Into The Next Financial Year

One of the most well-known motorcycle brands in our country, Suzuki Motorcycles is about to add a new product to its portfolio for India. As of now, from a gearless scooter like the Access 125 to a monstrous superbike like the legendary Hayabusa, this company offers it all. The brand now also offers a range of dirt bikes, for the niche market of adventure junkies in India. Starting the new Financial year on a high note, Suzuki Motorcycle India (SMIPL), registered 9.25% growth in April 2019. The company, a subsidiary of two-wheeler manufacturer, Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, registered sales of 57,072 units in the domestic market as compared to 52,237 units in April 2018. Suzuki Motorcycle India recorded a healthy Y-O-Y growth of 12.57% with 65,942 unit sales (Domestic + Exports) in April this year via-a-vie 58,577 unit sales (Domestic + Exports) same period, last year.

Commenting on the growth momentum, Mr. Devashish Handa, Vice President, Marketing, Sales, and After Sales at SMIPL said, “Given the depressed industry sentiment, this is a great start of the new financial year for Suzuki Motorcycle India and we are poised for a strong performance in FY19-20, aiming to achieve 1 million sales target. Suzuki Motorcycle India is committed to offering superior quality products, designed and adapted for Indian customers. In this fiscal year, our focus is also to strengthen our dealer network and product portfolio with the addition of new premium products to our stable catering to a larger customer base.”

In other news, the brand is all set to unveil a brand new motorcycle for the Indian market. This motorcycle will be powered by a 250 cc motor generating 26.5 HP and will be oil cooled. With the official name not out yet, the internet seems to be calling it the Gixxer 250, which will be launched on the 20th of May. Apart from the launch of this brand new motorcycle, Suzuki will also be updating their Gixxer 155 bike, which has not received any major changes ever since it was launched.
