Spied: 2014 Kawasaki Ninja Z1000

2014 Kawasaki Z1000-4

The Kawasaki Ninja Z1000 aka the Z1000SX sold in Europe was spy spotted during a photo shoot on the Atlantic Road Molde in Norway- a well known location for used by film makers and photographers for their shooting projects.

Though very difficult to spot the changes between this and the prevailing variant, the immediate visual change seems to be the two body matching touring panniers hinting at a touring variant of the Z1000SX to be offered in the European Union. The brake calipers are different in design and the end can on the new bike now comes finished in chrome as compared to the black matt finish on the current version. Another minor update seems to be the nose of bike and the fuel tank finished in matching body colours.

Though nothing more can be made out from the bike visually from the 2013 model, but it’s being speculated that the new 2014 Kawasaki Ninja Z1000 would feature a lighter anti-lock braking system (ABS) either from Bosch or Nissin. Also the Europe spec’d Kawasaki Versys powered by the same engine of the Z1000 comes equipped with Kawasaki’s KRTC three mode traction control system (also present on the ZX636R, ZX10R and ZX14R) would probably be passed onto the 2014 Kawasaki Z1000. Additionally three different engine maps are also speculated to be offered on the 1043cc motor.
