The all-new Skoda Superb will be unveiled mid-February 2015 before heading to the Geneva Motor Show a month later. After a series of spy pictures, Skoda has floated teaser images showing camouflaged prototypes of the next-gen Superb, also described as the being the “the best Skoda ever”. This third generation model will be bigger in size than its limo-sized predecessor, as it will be wider, longer, yet lighter than the outgoing car. Skoda promises that the next-gen Superb will be even more spacious and offer more boot space in comparison to the existing Superb.
The 2015 Skoda Superb will ride on a stretched MQB platform that also underpins the Volkswagen Passat B8 and will lose 75 kg despite being 20mm longer and 50mm wider. The Czech car maker’s new flagship promises to provide best-in class comfort, infotainment, connectivity, safety, space, consumption and performance. The wheelbase is expected to grow by around 80mm while the trunk will offer 625 liters with the rear seats up and 1,760 liters when the seats go down. Skoda could also offer adaptive dampers with selectable modes as an option package. Powering the new Skoda Superb should be the same 2.0-litre diesel unit that does duty on the existing car, but could be tuned to for additional power. Expect the new Superb to continue with a six-speed manual or an optional DSG gearbox.
