Rumour Mill: Tata Tigor India Launch Likely On March 29

If reports are to be believed, Tata Motors has plans to launch the upcoming Tigor compact sedan in India in the month of March itself. According to a report, the Indian automobile manufacturer will launch the Tigor on March 29, 2017.

Code-named the Kite-5, the model made its debut at the previous edition of the Auto Expo held last year. Based on the Tiago, the front fascia of the compact sedan carries over most of its design cues from the hatchback while the posterior is a completely new design. The interior of the Tata Tigor too, will be similar to that of the Tiago, apart from the inclusion of a touchscreen infotainment system.

Although no official details of the Tata Tigor have been revealed, the model is expected to be powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.05-litre diesel engine as seen on the Tiago. Transmission options will include a five speed manual transmission as standard while an AMT gearbox could be offered as an option.

The news of the Tigor launch comes even as Tata Motors has displayed a special edition of the Tigor and the Nexon at the ongoing Geneva Motor Show. The company also chose the occasion to unveil its all new sports car, Racemo, under its new sub-brand TAMO. You can read more about the TAMO Racemo here.
