Groupe Renault recently announced Drive the Future, the company’s mid-term plan for the 2017 – 2022. According to the plan, the French automobile manufacturer plans to launch a few new products, including a compact MPV for the Indian market.
Although Renault has not revealed any details regarding the launch of this upcoming compact MPV, reports suggest that the model will be all new product based on the company’s CMF-A platform which also underpins the Kwid. The compact MPV, which will be positioned below the Ertiga, will have three rows of seats capable of accommodating 7 people.

Sources is the know have revealed that the upcoming Renault compact MPV (codenamed RBC) will be an all new MPV developed specially for India. Hinting at the Datsun Go Plus, the source added that the company has tried the route of modifying an existing model but it has met with little success.

Renault is said to have received a luke warm response for the Lodgy MPV that is currently sold in India, which registers sales of just 400 units per month as compared to sales of 6000 units a month by its rival, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. Renault India had earlier revealed that the company will be launching one new product every year. The Captur will be launched later this year. Will it be followed by the compact MPV next year?
