Porsche’s 918 Spyder is the fastest production Porsche to have ever been produced. Now, just before the delivery of the first customer vehicles, the 918 Spyder has upped the ante further. With the weight-optimised ‘Weissach’ package fitted, the 918 Spyder accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in just 2.6 seconds (-0.2 seconds improvement over stock), from zero to 200 km/h in a blazing fast 7.2 seconds  and reaches 300 km/h in 19.9 flat!

The 918 Spyder could sprint to 100km/h from a standstill in 6.2 seconds only on electric power in sock form. With the Weissach package fitted, this electric sprinting time is reduced to 6.1 seconds. The 918 Spyder complete with Weissach package currently holds the lap record for road vehicles on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, with a time of 6:57 minutes.

The 918 Spyder Weissach has a 4.6 liter V8 engine and 2 electric motors propelling it. Peak power is rated at 887 PS @ 8500 rpm while the peak torque is supercar bashing 1280 Nm. The mid engine car is probably the most sought after production sports car in the world at this point in time.

Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, Senior Vice President 918 Spyder programme, highlights the significance of these results: “We have now used all options available to electrify the 918 Spyder, working right up to the last minute to do so.”
