Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) launched the new 1.4L Kappa petrol engine with 4 speed automatic transmission in the Elite i20. Additionally, the top end trims of the Elite i20 as well as the i20 Active now come equipped with more safety features such as six airbags, speed sensing auto door lock and height adjustable front seat belts.
The Elite i20 Automatic will be powered by Hyundai’s 1.4-litre Dual VTVT petrol engine. This 1368cc motor is capable of producing 100 PS at 6000 rpm while the peak torque of 132 Nm comes up at 4000 rpm. This engine is available with a five speed manual transmission as standard while the four speed automatic gearbox is available as an option.
According to the company, the i20 brand has crossed 1 million units in sales across the country. “Made in India, Made for the World” as globally successful brand, i20 is the most awarded car in the Indian automobile landscape winning about 34 awards since its launch. The Elite i20 has also won the prestigious Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) award in 2015.
Speaking on the occasion, Rakesh Srivastava, Senior VP – Sales & Marketing, HMIL, said that the Hyundai i20 is super performer brand in the premium compact segment.
