Ford India has confirmed that the Freestyle will be launched in the country on April 18, 2018. The Compact Utility Vehicle (CUV), as the company calls it, can also be cooled via a special booking window through Amazon India against an amount of INR 10,000.
The 24 hour booking window on the portal will begin at 2:00 PM on April 14 and 100 customers will be among the first few to drive home the new model. Amazon has setup a brand page for Ford Freestyle to help consumers select their preferred variant, engine option and colour.
Under the hood, the new Ford Freestyle will be offered with two engine options including a new 1.2-litre Dragon series petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The petrol mill has been tuned to produce 96 PS of power and 120 Nm of torque while the diesel mill can produce 100 PS of power and 215 Nm of torque. Transmission duties on both the variants are taken care of by a five speed manual transmission.
The upcoming Ford Freestyle CUV features a black honeycomb grille flanked by smoked headlamps, LED DRLs, silver scuff plate, grey coloured alloy wheels, contrasting grey roof rails and a roof mounted spoiler. Inside, the model comes equipped with a 6.5 inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Sync 3 connectivity, automatic climate control, reverse parking camera, push button start, keyless entry, automatic headlamps and rain sensing wipers. Safety features will include dual airbags as a standard feature across the variants, while six airbags will be offered on the top-end Titanium+ variant. Also on offer will be a segment first Active Rollover Prevention (ARP).
