Nissan Sunny facelift launch in July this year

It has surfaced that Nissan India is close to launching the Nissan Sunny facelift in our country. The new Nissan Sunny facelift launch is expected to take place in July this year, which means that the Nissan Sunny facelift launch would happen only a little less than half a year after the car was first showcased in India at the 2012 Indian Auto Expo.

The Nissan Sunny facelift features a revised front fascia that comprises of a new set of headlights and a new V-shaped grille with chrome surrounds. The front bumper gets new foglight enclosures and the outside rear view mirrors now come with trafficators integrated into them. The car also gets new design alloy wheels and a mildly revised rear bumper.

The Nissan Sunny facelift will be launched with ABS, EBD and Brake Assist as standard. Flagship variants will also get side and front airbags. The audio system will get Bluetooth connectivity and a USB port, and the centre console will get a piano black finish.

As with most such facelifts, the updates have been restricted to the car’s styling only and mechanically, the car remains unchanged. This means that powering the petrol engine variant of the Sunny will be a 1.5 liter four cylinder engine with a max power of 99 PS and peak torque of 134 Nm. The diesel variant will be powered by a 1.5 liter turbocharged unit with a max power of 86 PS and peak torque of 200 Nm. The diesel engine comes mated to a five speed manual gearbox, while the petrol engine is being offered with both a five speed manual and a CVT option.
