Bugatti is set to unveil its forthcoming hypercar this June with the iconic W16 engine making way for a revolutionary V16 hybrid engine
This shift marks a significant departure, as Bugatti embraces electrification in the form of its first-ever hybrid powertrain.
Peek into the V16 Hybrid Engine
While Bugatti remains tight-lipped about specific engine details like capacity and in-house development, they have excited the enthusiasts with a sneak peek through a preview video, offering an auditory glimpse of the engine’s distinctive roar.
Contrary to initial speculations of downsizing to accommodate hybrid components, Bugatti remains loyal to its 16-cylinder heritage.

The Hybrid Dynamics
The exact interplay between the colossal V16 engine and the electric drive element remains a mystery. Bugatti enthusiasts are left wondering if the hybrid drivetrain will facilitate engine-off running or if both systems will work together for peak power output.
What’s undeniable is the anticipated power—combining the colossal engine with electric augmentation is poised to rival the formidable 1,508hp Chiron.
This powerhouse can achieve a staggering 0-100kph in a mere 2.5 seconds and boasts a top speed of 420kph in its standard configuration.

A New Bugatti Era
The hypercar’s design, approved early last year, signals a transformative era for Bugatti. Although designer Achim Anscheidt, who recently stepped down as Bugatti’s design chief, assures the preservation of signature elements like the horseshoe grille and crescent-shaped belt line, the overall aesthetic is set to propel Bugatti into a new era.
