Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) has launched the 1.4 litre petrol engine powered variant of the new Verna. The new engine on what Hyundai calls the Next Gen Verna, with the 1.4 Kappa dual VTVT engine can be had in two variants – E and EX, both being the base trims.
The 1.4 L Kappa Dual VTVT petrol engine is offered with an output of 100PS @ 6000 RPM and torque of 13.5 Kgm (132Nm) @ 4000 RPM. The fuel efficiency of the new variant has been further improved by 8% to an impressive 19.1 KMPL. The engine is mated with a 6-speed manual transmission.
Launched in August 2017, the Next Gen Verna has received over 30,000 bookings and 2,00,000 enquiries in India and over 10,500 Units of export order from global markets. It has been the most awarded car of 2017 winning 10 awards including the prestigious “Indian Car of the Year 2018”.
