Raipur-based Godawari Electric has something special in store for us in the Auto Expo 2023, which might be the debut for Godawari. It is going to showcase its entire EV 2 & 3-wheeler range to be launched in 2023 at the upcoming Auto Expo 2023. The company is going to launch two products which include an e-auto (L5M) and an e-bicycle at the expo. The company last month announced its e-auto will have complete vehicle body panels made of DCPD material. DCPD is the latest plastic technology and offers a wide range of benefits. What benefits, you ask? The material is impact resistant and has been referred to as “virtually unbreakable” making the vehicle strong enough to work during harsh conditions and rust-proof. Now, that is a tempting proposition.
What’s New?
So, what’s the company going to show us? The company is also going to showcase the prototype of its e-scooter, e-loader and e-rickshaw at the Auto Expo. All these products will be manufactured from its upcoming manufacturing facility in Raipur. These three products are expected to be launched in the upcoming financial year. The company had announced that it has invested around INR 150 crore for setting up an EV manufacturing plant in Raipur, which is indeed a humongous sum.
But, what do we know about Godawari? What does it do? Launched in July 2019 as Godawari EMobility, Godawari Electric Motors aims to provide self-employment to millions and reduce the carbon footprint in the country with its state-of-the-art e-mobility solutions. Indeed, a good plan for the people, giving back to society in the truest sense. It is the brainchild of Siddharth Agarwal and Mahendra Agrawal and was founded with the vision of providing a non-polluting, sustainable commute by offering a complete range of EV products. What makes Godawari Electric Motors unique? It is the fact that it is one of the first companies to launch a leasing model in the EV space in India. Now, that’s an interesting business model, and it will be quite interesting to see how will this model fare in the times to come.
