  • Chevrolet rules out the possibility of new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Launch

Chevrolet Corvette C7 engineer Tadge Juechter recently stated to AutoBlog that the American auto maker has no plans of coming up with a ZR1 version of the new Corvette to position above the recently unveiled Z06.

It may be noted that most Corvette-fans and car aficionados thought Chevrolet might come up with an even more powerful, range topping ZR1 variant when it unveiled the new Z06 at NAIAS recently. However, now, thanks to the revelation by C7 engineer Tadge Juechter, it becomes almost for sure that the new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 launch is not on the cards.

While the development of the new Z06 is far from completion at this moment, Chevrolet has gone to the lengths of saying that the new Zo6 will be potent enough to outperform the C6-based ZR1. Powering the new 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is a new LT 6.2-liter V8 supercharged engine that has a max power of 625 bhp (466 kW) and peak torque of 635 lb-ft (861 Nm). Transmission options for this variant consist of a seven-speed manual and an eight-speed automatic.

Prices for the new 2015 Chevrolet Corvette are far from being announced but it is being said that they would start somewhere near the 100,000 USD figure.
