Bentley Motors has teased the latest iteration of the Bentley Continental GT, ahead of its official debut.
The new Continental GT will introduce a powerful PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) powertrain that is set to replace the outgoing W12 engine.
Unveiling the New Continental GT PHEV
The upcoming Bentley Continental GT PHEV will get an advanced hybrid powertrain. The teaser images released by Bentley reveal subtle yet significant design updates, with the new headlamp shape drawing inspiration from the Batur model. The teardrop design is complemented by a more rounded overall shape.

V8 Hybrid Powertrain
At the heart of the new Continental GT is Bentley’s first ‘ultra-performance hybrid’ setup. This innovative system combines an uprated 4.0-litre V8 engine with a single electric motor, integrated into the gearbox. Together, they produce a staggering 782hp and a peak torque of 1,001Nm. This hybrid setup not only outperforms the previous W12 engine but also shows Bentley’s commitment to sustainable performance without compromising on power.
Enhanced Dynamics and Driving Experience
Bentley has made significant enhancements to the driving dynamics of the new Continental GT. The fourth-generation model features new dual-valve dampers, revised active anti-roll bars, and updated torque vectoring and four-wheel steering systems.
Acceleration and Performance Figures
While the exact performance figures for the new Continental GT PHEV are yet to be revealed, expectations are high. The outgoing W12 engine boasted a 0-100kph time of 3.6 seconds. Given the enhanced power and torque of the new hybrid setup, it is anticipated that the new model will surpass this benchmark, delivering even quicker acceleration.

A New Era for Bentley
The introduction of the Continental GT PHEV is a pivotal moment in Bentley’s journey. By replacing the traditional V8 and W12 powertrains with a sophisticated hybrid system, Bentley is not only enhancing performance but also reducing its environmental footprint.
Launch and Availability: Global and Indian Market
Following its global debut, the new Bentley Continental GT PHEV is expected to make its way to the Indian market. The transition from the old V8 engine to the new hybrid setup will likely result in a higher base price, reflecting the advanced technology and enhanced performance capabilities of the new model.
