Previously, Honda had commenced the bookings for the second generation Amaze in India for a token amount of INR 21,000. The car maker revealed key features and segment first equipment that the new Honda Amaze will receive. The list of features will include start-stop push button, CVT automatic transmission, paddle shifters and a shark fin antenna. Inside, the Amaze compact sedan will get dual tone theme of beige and black, a large touchscreen infotainment system, touch keys that replace the conventional buttons for the HVAC controls and steering mounted controls.
The all-new 2nd Generation Amaze is built on an all-new platform, incorporating Honda’s advanced engineering prowess and expertise in research and development. It will be available in both Petrol and Diesel. The all-new Amaze will feature the First in Industry Diesel CVT Technology in the Indian market. This will be Honda’s first diesel engine combined with advanced CVT, and India will be the first market to receive this technology.
Mechanical specifications are scarce at the moment but the upcoming compact sedan is expected to retain the same petrol and diesel engines as the outgoing model. So expect to see the same 1.2-litre petrol motor that is tuned to produce 87 hp and 109 Nm of torque and the 1.5-litre diesel motor with 99 hp and 200 Nm of torque on the new generation model. These engines are paired to a five speed manual transmission and a six speed manual transmission respectively. A CVT Transmission will also be offered with the new Amaze for the very first time.
