Update: If the latest report by Autocar India is to be believed, DSK-Benelli will launch the Leoncino in India by February 2018. The motorcycle is currently undergoing tests for ARAI certification. Moreover, the report further adds that the Indian market will not get the off-road spec version of the motorcycle.
Back in March last year, DSK boss Shirish Kulkarni had revealed that Benelli would be bringing BX250 and the Leoncino to India soon. While there is no update on the BX250, the Lenocino Scrambler was recently spotted during a public road test in India for the first time.

As seen in the images, the Leoncino test-mule is completely camouflaged and does not reveal many details. What we do know though, is that the company is testing this model for India, which can be confirmed due to the presence of a saree guard on the left side of the motorcycle. The test-mule features USD forks as well. A few other features that the new DSK Benelli Leoncino is expected to receive includes and LED DRL, LED tail light, LED turn indicators, a fully digital instrument cluster and ABS.
New 2018 Benelli Leoncino Engine Specifications
Propelling the upcoming Benelli Leoncino Scrambler will be a 499cc twin cylinder liquid cooled engine that produces 47 PS at 8500 rpm and 45 Nm of torque at 4500 rpm. Transmission duties will be taken care of by a six speed gearbox.
