Japanese car maker, Toyota, showcased the new 2014 Corolla Altis at the Auto Expo 2014 last month. Now, according to reports, it has emerged the new 2014 Toyota Corolla Altis India launch is scheduled to happen by May this year. Also, with the 2014 Toyota Corolla Altis India launch, the car maker may also launch the new Etios Cross in India.
Powering the new 2014 Corolla Altis is the same 1.8 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine that powers the outgoing model. Power and torque are rated at 140 PS at 6400 rpm and 190 Nm at 4000 rpm respectively. The engine will come mated to a manual transmission. A seven speed CVT automatic with pedal shifters will also be available with this petrol motor. The diesel engine will also be the same 1.4 liter motor which produces 88 PS.
Mr. Shinichi Yasui, Chief Engineer, Toyota Motor Corporation said “The All New Corolla Altis will further strengthen the product by incorporating refreshing new appeals that satisfy more customers. Based on the QDR values, the solid, long – lasting, high quality reputation that the Corolla Altis has established over the years will be firmly maintained, while new appeals are added to further enhance the product through advanced design and packaging.”
The new Corolla Altis will be loaded to the gills with features such as :
- LED Daytime Running Lights
- Push button start
- Keyless entry
- Rain sensing wipers
- Paddle shifters on the automatic transmission variant
- Rear view camera
- 8 way adjustable seat for driver
- 7 inch touch screen infotainment system
