Mercedes-Benz India is all set to launch India’s first ‘Compact Performance Sedan’ the CLA 45 AMG on the 22nd of this month. The launch will happen at the Buddh International Circuit. Here, we take a look at all the things you need to know about the CLA 45 AMG.
Mercedes-Benz India has already declared the year 2014 as the Year of Excellence. Under this, the company has launched two AMG products this year- GL63 AMG and ML63 AMG. Mercedes-Benz has also launched AMG Performance Centres in 3 cities which will cater specifically to AMG machines.
Mercedes-Benz India showcased the CLA 45 AMG at the Auto Expo 2014. With the launch around the corner, Mercedes-Benz India recently released the first India-specific television commercial. Motivation is provided by a 2.0-liter, twin turbo 4 pot mill which cranks out a whopping 360 PS of max power and 450 Nm of peak torque. The CLA 45 AMG comes with the same 7G-DCT automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system that ensures maximum grip over any type of road surface. This is the most powerful 4 cylinder motor used in any production car. The car dismisses the 0 to 100 kmph mark in a mere 4.6 seconds and keeps accelerating until it reaches its electronically limited top whack of 250 kmph. For extra dough, owners can opt for a special package which gets rid of this speed limiter.
Visual differences between the regular variants and the CLA45 AMG include- more aerodynamic front and rear bumpers, AMG sport steering wheel and gear lever. The CLA45 AMG gets three stage ESP with Curve Dynamic Assist, aerodynamic front and rear bumpers with carbon fiber trims. The CLA45 AMG rides on 18 inch wheels shod with 235/40R18 rubber.
Dealers have already commenced the bookings with a payment of INR 1 lakh. According to reports, the car will be priced in the INR 60-70 lakh bracket and will cater to a niche segment.
