Last year in September, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) had organized a superbike ride for the Honda superbike owners from Mumbai to Nashik. This time, the Japanese auto maker teamed up with Group Of Delhi Superbikers (GODS) to organize a ‘Big Bike Ride’ with the agenda to promote fun-riding in a safe way. The bike ride was flagged off from Honda’s New Wing World Showroom at Naraina, Delhi. A total of 25 riders participated in the ride.
Riders were briefed on emergency measures to be taken while riding by an Expert Medical Trainer. The session included demonstration on handling faint riders, attending fracture/small injuries, transfer of injured rider with necessary caution and correct way of handling vehicle in case of a fall.
The ride from Naraina to Manesar was packed with breakfast at Hotel Pullman, Gurgaon. Further, ensuring safety at all levels, every GODS’ rider was gifted a specially designed First Aid kit comprising of all essential medical aids. The ride was an opportunity for riders to take timeout from their busy urban schedule for fun ride with their fellow members.
“As a responsible corporate, Honda has always emphasized on road safety. Such endeavours are amongst the many that Honda undertakes to promote fun riding in a safe way without losing the thrill. As the traffic density continues to rise, especially the big bike riders need to be aware and informed about the precautionary steps to handle themselves and their bike in case of an emergency.”- Mr. Y.S. Guleria, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India.
“GODS is thankful to Honda and appreciates the efforts made by Honda Wing World-Delhi to educate riders about emergency measures. The group today learnt tips and techniques that will not only be handy, but also be useful in the long run. These recreational activities not only promote safe-riding, but also educate riders to be wary off the extreme conditions.”- Dr. Arun Theraja, Founder, Group Of Delhi Superbikers (GODS).
