Jawa-Yezdi Motorcycles is honoured to support the National Cadet Corps’ (NCC) motorcycle rally, “Dandi se Dilli.” The NCC Directorate Gujarat organised this motorcycle rally as a part of its “Pachattar Varsh” (75 years) Celebrations. On January 15, 2023, in Dandi, Gujarat’s Minister of Finance, Energy, and Petrochemicals Shri Kanubhai Mohanlal Desai officially started the 1300 km rally.
To represent India’s transition from the “extractors of salt” to the “makers of software,” a group of 25 NCC cadets will march with a pot of salt made at the National Salt Satyagraha Memorial (NSSM), Dandi, and a CD containing a software programme created by the Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG). The Honourable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, will receive these tokens when he addresses the NCC Day Rally on January 28, 2023, in Delhi.
Jawa-Yezdi’s Contribution
Jawa-Yezdi Motorcycles gave the NCC Directorate two Jawa motorcycles, one of each limited-edition color—Khaki and Grey—to mark the occasion. To honour the valour and sacrifices of members of the armed forces, the Jawa Khaki was added to the model lineup. The cadets will travel on a total of 25 different Jawa-Yezdi motorcycles in addition to these.
Before arriving in New Delhi, the rally’s riders will pass through cities like Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Udaipur, Ajmer, Jaipur, and Alwar. Celebrations are planned at Jawa Yezdi dealerships in these cities, where the rally participants will be honoured as they stop for maintenance.
This collaboration is part of Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles’ #ForeverHeroes initiative, which was created to foster gratitude for the armed forces. The business has been fostering a culture of values since its inception to recognise employees’ sacrifices and efforts in maintaining the safety, stability, and prosperity of the nation.
The company formally announced this initiative in 2019 to support the welfare of military personnel and their kin. Since then, the company has maintained its support by making donations and providing assistance for rides commemorating historic and successful milestones like Kargil Vijay Diwas, Swarnim Vijay Varsh, and the 75th anniversary of Independence.
