Morris Garages Unveils MG4 EV

British automaker Morris Garages unveiled its first ever fully-Electric hatchback car at the AutoExpo of 2022. With up to 281 miles of electric range and two battery options, including a touchscreen that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the MG ismart app and their pilot MG suite of driver assistance systems, and other classy additional features make this MG4 EV the no-compromise electric car.

Choosing this long-range car will also be advantageous as you get a 360-degree parking camera, satellite navigation, and warmly heated front seats among all.

DESIGN & FEATURES

The design of the MG4 EV certainly stands out due to its sporty and dynamic lines. The latest technology coupled with safety features makes this car efficient and comfortable to drive.

The new trend of minimalism is picked up by this car, the whole car layout is minimalistic, simple, and user-friendly yet chic and of good quality. There is a floating console which adds up to more space in the car. This makes the design more effective.

Even though it is a hatchback don’t think they will compromise on the interior. MG4 can easily make space for 5 people. You will notice the change once you get in the cabin of the car.

The space in the car has been utilized by 28 storage solutions, with a maximum boot capacity of 1,177 liters when the rear seats are folded, there’s also plenty of space for shopping, sports gear, and trips away.

The steering wheel of the MG4 EV is a four-way adjustable wheel which a variety of functions attached. There is an Air-purifying system in the car which automatically fills the car with fresh and pleasant air.

There’s no mistaking the sharp and distinctive LED headlights on the new MG4 EV. The 28 LED Daytime Running Lights combined with the 36 LED turning indicators create a truly impressive light display. There is a two-toned roof to the car which makes it look sporty and elegant.

POWERTRAIN AND RANGE DETAILS

In international markets, the MG4 EV is available with two battery packs – 51kWh and a larger 64kWh; the former produces 170hp, while the latter makes 203hp. Torque output on both versions is rated at 250Nm, and both come in single-motor, rear-wheel drive configurations.

In terms of charging, using a 7kW AC fast charger, the batteries can be topped up from 10 percent to 100 percent in 7.5 hours and 9 hours for the 51kWh and 64kWh battery packs, respectively. However, with a 150kW DC charger, the same batteries can be charged from 10 percent to 80 percent in 35 minutes and 39 minutes, respectively. 

MG claims the smaller battery pack can return a range of up to 350km, while the larger one has a range of 452km – both on the WLTP cycle. The MG4 EV is compatible with a 150kW DC charger.
