MG Motor India announced that their retail sales increased by 53% over the same month last year to 4367 units in October 2022.
This expansion is the result of the company producing 5008 units overall, including 1000 of its electric car (MG ZS EV), which was also a record-high for MG India. This has been made feasible thanks to the manufacturer’s localization activities, which have helped to increase semiconductor supply.
MG Motor is still concentrating on satisfying customer demand. The start of Astor’s deliveries, India’s first SUV with AI onboard, in both CVT and AT variants is now achievable because of the recent boost in manufacturing. Since its premiere in 2020, the all-new ZS EV, India’s first pure electric Internet SUV, has achieved a significant milestone, recording the highest-ever retail sales of 784 units.
This achievement is achieved by the extensive charging network that is growing throughout the nation. The MG Hector, India’s first internet-delivered SUV, continues to do well in terms of sales, and the business is prepared to introduce the Next-Gen Hector at some point this year.
MG has also announced that the compact, two-door Air EV will go on sale in India at the beginning of next year, according to British automakers. The likelihood of a preview at the next Auto Expo 2023 is consequently very strong. In India, the MG Air EV will be promoted as the company’s entry-level model Measuring around 2.9 meters in length and with a wheelbase of 2,010mm, and with a battery pack size of 20 to 25 kWh, the Air EV should have a real-world driving range of 150 kilometers.
A front-wheel-drive system with a single motor may produce roughly 40 horsepower. Tata Auto Company, which has a joint venture with Chinese battery supplier Gotion for the design, manufacturing, supply, and servicing of battery packs in India, will supply the battery pack for the Air EV domestically.
